BarkerBox is a voice effect for performers, musicians, and video creators. It gives your microphone the sound of a megaphone, PA system, or radio. It's made to cut through a mix or a loud room. Use it for live shows or in your recordings.

It comes with six main voice characters, each designed for a specific sound.

  • Megaphone: The classic handheld horn sound that cuts through a crowd.
  • Overhead PA: A vintage, hazy effect like an old ceiling speaker or cabin announcement.
  • Sideshow: Adds carnival-barker grit and character.
  • Dispatch Radio: A narrow, focused tone for an "all units" feel.
  • Stadium PA: A bigger, booming announcement sound for large spaces.
  • Horn-on-Mic: An intense, up-close horn sound with an unruly edge.

Each preset is a starting point. You can shape the final sound using eight different controls. Adjust faders for Presence, Grit, Distortion, and Reverb to dial in the exact character you need for your performance. This gives you control beyond the presets.

You can use BarkerBox in two ways. It runs as a standalone app, so you don't need a recording program to use it live. Just connect your microphone and route the output to a mixer or speakers. It also works as an AU and VST3 plug-in inside your existing audio software.

BarkerBox is currently available for Apple Silicon Macs. It's sold as early-access software, which means it's still in development. Windows and Linux versions are being tested but are not included with the purchase.
