Terms of Service

Terms of Service for GetMusicTools. The rules for using the site, submitting and removing listings, paid placements, and advertising.

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of GetMusicTools at www.getmusictools.com (the "Site"), including browsing the directory, creating an account, submitting or claiming a tool listing, purchasing a paid listing, and booking advertising.

By using the Site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. How we handle personal data is described separately in our Privacy Policy.

2. The Service

GetMusicTools is an editorial directory of music tools: software, apps, and services for musicians and producers. Listings are curated by us and are provided for general information only. We do not endorse any listed tool, and while we aim to keep listings accurate, we do not guarantee that information about a tool (such as pricing, features, or platform support) is complete or current. Always verify details with the provider before relying on them.

3. Accounts

  • You can sign in with an email magic link or with a Google account.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your email account secure.
  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
  • You can ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing info@getmusictools.com.

4. Submitting a Listing

When you submit a tool, you confirm that:

  • You are the tool's owner or are authorised by the owner to submit it
  • The information you provide is accurate and not misleading
  • Your submission does not infringe anyone else's rights or break any law

By submitting, you allow us to display the tool's name, logo, screenshots, descriptions, and other submitted material on the Site and in our newsletter, and to edit or rewrite descriptions, for as long as the listing is published.

Not every listing comes from a submission. We also add tools ourselves, based on publicly available information such as the provider's website, to keep the directory complete. If you represent a tool we have listed, you can claim it (Section 5), ask us to correct it, or ask us to remove it (Section 7).

All submissions are manually reviewed. Submitting a tool does not guarantee that it will be published. Approved free listings are published according to our publishing queue, and the publication date is at our discretion.

5. Claiming a Listing

If your tool is already listed, you can claim it by verifying a one-time code sent to an email address on the tool's domain. Once claimed, you can manage the listing from your account. We may revoke a claim if it turns out to have been made without authorisation.

6. Editorial Control

We decide what appears in the directory. We may edit, re-categorise, re-tag, reject, or remove any listing at any time, for example if a tool falls outside the directory's scope, no longer operates, or no longer meets our criteria. Paid placement does not buy editorial endorsement.

7. Removing a Listing

You can ask us to remove a published listing at any time. To do so:

  1. Email info@getmusictools.com with the subject line "Listing Removal - [Tool Name]", preferably from an address on the tool's domain
  2. We may ask you to verify that you own or represent the tool before we act on the request
  3. We remove the listing within 5 business days of a verified request

Removing a listing ends any active Premium subscription for that listing. Fees already paid for a published listing are not refunded on removal (see Section 8). Personal data connected to the listing is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Paid Listings and Refunds

We offer the following listing tiers:

  • Free Listing: Published according to our publishing queue. No payment and no backlink to GetMusicTools required.
  • Standard Listing: One-time payment.
  • Premium Listing: Recurring subscription.

The benefits and current price of each paid tier are shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe.

Refunds:

  • If we reject a paid submission, we refund the full amount.
  • One-time fees are non-refundable once the listing has been published, because the service has been delivered.
  • You can cancel a Premium subscription at any time. It stays active until the end of the current billing period and is not refunded for that period. When it ends, the listing reverts to a Free Listing.

Paid listings and advertising are offered to businesses. By purchasing, you confirm that you are acting for business purposes. You agree that delivery begins as soon as a listing is published or a booked ad starts running, so the statutory right of withdrawal for consumers does not apply.

9. Advertising

  • Ad placements are booked and paid for through our advertise page.
  • You are responsible for the content of your ad and for the product or page it links to. Ads must not be misleading, illegal, or offensive, and must not infringe anyone's rights.
  • We may reject or remove any ad that breaks these rules or does not fit the Site. If we reject an ad before it runs, we refund it in full.
  • Apart from ads we reject, paid ad bookings are non-refundable.
  • We do not guarantee any particular number of impressions, clicks, or conversions.

10. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Submit spam, duplicate, or deliberately false listings
  • Impersonate another person or company, or claim a listing you are not entitled to
  • Scrape or crawl the Site in a way that degrades it, or circumvent rate limits
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, other accounts, or our systems
  • Use the Site for any unlawful purpose

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

11. Intellectual Property

The Site's design, code, editorial content, and compilation of listings belong to us or our licensors. Tool names, logos, and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are shown for identification only.

12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any listed tool is fit for a particular purpose.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, revenue, or data. Our total liability to you in connection with the Site is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Danish law, including liability for intent or gross negligence.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last Updated" date above and notify registered users by email of material changes. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Danish law. Any disputes will be settled by the courts of Copenhagen, Denmark, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.
