Chord Scribe

Chord Scribe is an app for creating chord charts directly from your lyrics. It’s designed for songwriters and musicians who need a simple way to arrange songs on their phone or tablet for practice or performance. It's a straightforward tool.

The process is manual and direct. You paste your lyrics into the app, then drag and drop chords from a palette onto the exact words where they should be played. Chord Scribe helps you arrange your chords; it does not automatically transcribe audio into a chart.

All the core features for creating charts are available for free. These include:

• Manual chord placement: Drag chords precisely where you want them over your lyrics.
• Key selection: Set a key for each song to keep your chords organized.
• Nashville Numbers: Display chords as numbers relative to the song’s key, such as 1, 4, and 5.
• Local song library: Save and access all your charts directly on your device.

An optional Pro upgrade is available as an in-app purchase. It adds features for performing and sharing your music, such as creating set lists to group songs for a gig and the ability to export your charts as PDFs for printing or sending to bandmates.

Your songs are stored only on your device. The app does not provide cloud sync or backup services, so you are responsible for your own data.
