StageMate is a sheet music reader for iOS and Android that lets you turn pages without using your hands. It's for any musician who needs to keep playing, from pianists to guitarists and orchestral performers. The app uses your device's front camera to watch for a deliberate blink or a head turn to advance the score.

You can adjust the sensitivity for both gestures. This helps match your playing style and lighting conditions, preventing accidental page turns during a performance. The core hands-free turning feature is free to use.

Beyond page turning, StageMate helps you manage your entire music library. It has tools to help you prepare for practice or a gig.

  • Import scores: Bring in PDFs, images, or scans from your device's camera.
  • Annotate music: Use handwriting or text tools to add fingerings and performance notes. The iPad version supports Apple Pencil.
  • Organize setlists: Group pieces together for a performance. The free version supports up to three setlists.
  • Practice tools: A built-in metronome and tuner are included so you don't have to switch apps.

A Pro subscription adds features for musicians who manage larger libraries or play in bands. It unlocks unlimited setlists and cloud syncing. It also lets you create shared setlists that sync with your bandmates' devices, including annotations. Keep in mind that the iOS and Android versions are separate. They use different cloud services (iCloud and a StageMate account, respectively) and do not sync with each other.
