SightReader is a browser-based tool for learning to read piano music. It's designed for students of all levels, from beginners working on middle C to advanced players preparing for exams. You connect a MIDI keyboard or use the on-screen one, and it gives you instant feedback on every note you play. The goal is to build confidence through short, consistent practice sessions. Just five minutes a day.

The process is simple. A note appears, you play it, and the app tells you if you got it right. Notes you hit correctly turn green, and misses turn red. This tight feedback loop helps you improve quickly. To keep you motivated, SightReader uses game-like elements. You can earn XP, build daily practice streaks, and unlock stars for each piece you master.

The platform has a large library to practice with. It includes over 4,000 pieces spanning four centuries of piano music, from Bach and Mozart to Debussy and Satie. For students following a structured path, the exercises are aligned with the ABRSM curriculum from Initial Grade through Grade 8. When you complete a grade, you receive a certificate.
