Mock Band is a backing band that runs in your browser. It's designed for musicians who want to practice without putting down their instrument to change settings. You get drums, bass, and comping that you can direct while you play. It's simple.

It fills the gap between a metronome and a full digital audio workstation. You get a responsive rhythm section without the setup time of a DAW project, making it ideal for sketching out ideas or rehearsing song sections. Changes to the groove, key, or feel can happen instantly.

You can direct the band using several methods, which lets you stay focused on playing.

• Hands-free control: Use your voice to change tempo, key, and feel. Text commands, keyboard shortcuts, and MIDI foot controllers are also supported.
• Live generation: The backing track is generated in real-time, not played from a recording. This allows for smooth transitions between different musical ideas.
• Local scenes: Save up to ten different arrangements as scenes in your browser. Recall them instantly to switch between parts of a song.
• MIDI output: Send the generated notes to external software or hardware synths using WebMIDI in compatible browsers.

The entire tool runs without downloads or user accounts. Your scenes are saved locally. While it can send live MIDI notes, it does not export audio or MIDI files, keeping its focus on live practice and composition.
