FindKeyBPM

Analyze local MP3 and WAV files to detect their musical key, BPM, and Camelot code. Your audio is processed privately in your browser.

This is a free tool for finding the tempo and musical key of an audio file. It runs entirely in your browser, so your audio files are never uploaded to a server. You just drop an MP3 or WAV file onto the page to get an analysis.

The tool is designed for producers, DJs, and musicians who need to quickly identify the characteristics of a track, sample, or loop. It works on files up to 10 minutes long and 40 MB in size. It's fast and simple.

After analyzing a file, the tool provides several useful pieces of information that you can verify by ear and copy individually.

  • Tempo detection: It estimates the beats per minute (BPM) of the track. You can easily adjust the result to half or double time if the initial guess feels too slow or fast.
  • Key analysis: It identifies the musical key, such as A minor or C major, which is helpful for remixing or sampling.
  • Camelot code: For DJs, it provides the corresponding Camelot wheel code (like 8A or 8B) for harmonic mixing.
  • Tap tempo: If you don't have a file, you can use the built-in tap tempo feature to find the BPM of a song by tapping along to the beat.

One of its key features is privacy. All processing happens on your device. You can also manually correct the results if you disagree with the analysis and save your changes locally. The tool doesn't support analyzing audio from links like YouTube or Spotify; it only works with local files.
