EarChord analyzes an audio file and shows you its chords, key, and tempo. It's for musicians who want to figure out a song's structure without signing up for a service or hitting a daily limit. The tool is free and unlimited because all the analysis happens right in your browser. Your audio is never uploaded.

It's a simple process. You drop a file and get back a detailed breakdown.

• Chord timeline: See every detected chord laid out over time. You can click any chord to jump to that point in the audio and check it with your ear. The progression can be copied as text or downloaded.
• Key and tempo: The tool identifies the song's overall key based on note frequency and calculates its tempo in beats per minute.
• Roman numerals: It also displays the chord progression using Roman numerals (like I-V-vi-IV), which helps you understand the harmony in a way that can be transposed to any key.

EarChord intentionally keeps its vocabulary to major and minor triads. This focus improves its accuracy for most pop and rock music, as it avoids misidentifying simpler chords as more complex ones. It won't show you sevenths, suspensions, or inversions. It reports the root triad instead. The analysis can also be less precise on tracks with heavy distortion or very dense mixes. Because all processing is local, you can analyze as many files as you want.
